Fully committed to our students’ success, the program offers generous support that includes:
- Annual stipend each year for six years: $41,000
- Yearly research and travel fund, with access to additional funds, if needed: $1,500
- Initial moving allowance: $1,000. $1,500 for students moving from abroad
Graduate students also receive medical benefits, a tuition waiver, a laptop, and dissertation year support. Students enjoy teaching opportunities in writing and literature.
A low student-faculty ratio facilitates close mentorship. Ph.D. students are also supported by world-class faculty and enjoy opportunities to attend lectures and workshops with leading writers, scholars and editors. Offerings include:
- Two paid summer internships with Dallas’ press.
- Biennial workshops on academic publishing featuring senior editors from prestigious publications. Previous participants included editors from , , and .
- Faculty-led writing workshops in Taos, New Mexico, at our 海角直播-in-Taos campus.
- Workshops on a variety of careers featuring professionals from across academia and beyond, including Karen Kelsky, author of .
