Dr. James Lee speaks on "A Faith to Die For"
DALLAS – Perkins School of Theology, º£½ÇÖ±²¥ presents a Lunch & Learn event Monday, September 29, 2014, from 11:45 am – 1:00 pm. This free event will be held in room 107 of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston (77027).

This Lunch & Learn event features Dr. James Lee, assistant professor of the History of Christianity, with a presentation titled “A Faith to Die For: Martyrdom and the Spirit of Early Christianity.” Dr. Lee will address the witness of the early Christian martyrs and how it applies to Christians in the contemporary world. “Christianity is countercultural – a kind of resistance to structures of the world,” Dr. Lee said. “The witness of early Christian martyrs can be surprisingly applicable to Christians today.”
The Houston-Galveston Extension Program of Perkins School of Theology, located at 3501 W. Alabama, in Houston, periodically hosts Lunch & Learn events for prospective students, along with alumni, friends and any other guests who might be interested.
