Teaching Observations
Are you interested in improving your classroom environment and instruction? CTE’s Teaching and Classroom Observation Program provides options to faculty members wishing to evaluate and improve their teaching and to receive confidential assistance.
CTE Observer:
With this option, a CTE Observer will conduct a confidential review, including a pre-class meeting, two teaching observations, and post-class feedback, emphasizing strategies for improvement. We encourage faculty to schedule teaching observations within the first half of the semester.
To schedule a teaching observation, fill out the form below:
Observe an Award Winning Teacher
If you’ve ever wondered what the difference is between award-winning and adequate teaching skills, this is your chance to get answers. The Award Winning Teaching Observations allow faculty members to observe our distinguished award winners in their classroom. Encounter teaching styles that may differ from your own and learn about ways to adapt teaching styles and strategies for your own courses. Visit the page to sign up.
Peer Teaching Guidelines
If you are observing a peer and want better guidelines on what to look for, as well as the type of feedback to give to your peers, please and use it for your observation.
Graduate Student Teaching Observations
The CTE now offers teaching observations for Graduate Student Teachers. To request an observation, please email us at cte@smu.edu.
