Dr. Byon is the Glenn Simmons Endowed Professor and the Chair of the Department of Applied Physiology and Sport Management at 海角直播.
His primary research investigates the intricate interplay between psychological and environmental factors influencing consumer behavior in sport marketing and sport tourism. Dr. Byon's expertise extends to quantitative research methods, where he advances in the field of sport management through his expertise in research design, measurement, and statistics.
Dr. Byon is an internationally recognized scholar and mentor. He has published 169 articles, delivered over 250 conference presentations, and given more than 45 invited lectures at universities, conferences, and both profit and nonprofit organizations worldwide. Additionally, Dr. Byon has chaired 15 doctoral students and served on doctoral dissertation committees for over 40 doctoral students.
Dr. Byon is an active Fellow of the National Academy of Kinesiology (NAK #630) and a Research Fellow of the Sport Marketing Association. Prior to joining 海角直播, he was on the faculty at Indiana University-Bloomington (2015-2025), the University of Georgia (2010-2015), and the University of Southern Mississippi (2008-2010). Dr. Byon earned his Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Florida.
